Privacy and the GDPR
The GDPR, or General Data Protection Regulation act in the European Union has been enacted on May 25th 2018 and this privacy policy has been updated to reflect the requirements of this act in regards to your personal privacy. We’ve adopted, where possible, a plain language approach to explain our obligations to you and your personal data according to the regulations, and also within the ethical constraints that are part of the values of Marketing 4 Restaurants.
If you are restaurant customer, you can review the privacy policy for restaurant customers. Restaurant owners and operators can review the privacy policy for restaurant owners and operators
I’m a restaurant customer.
What are my privacy rights?
Marketing 4 Restaurants has many customers that we provide services to in order to run a successful restaurant. Part of the services is allowing the restaurant the ability to communicate with their own customer database. This might include email, text or other ways for the restaurant to keep you informed, both in a specific “Your order is ready!” sense, and in a more general “We have a new offer for you!” marketing sense. Naturally, you can unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
How do you collect my information?
Marketing 4 Restaurants provide a suite of products to restaurants, such as free online bookings, free online ordering and other awesome tools, that collect information relating to you and the way you interact with those products. As a result of that interaction to, for instance, book a table at the restaurant, information you provide for the booking is stored in the Marketing 4 Restaurants databases. This information is restricted in access only to the restaurant you booked with. We don’t onsell this to other restaurants.
It’s important to note, that if you use the services of multiple restaurants who use the Marketing 4 Restaurants platform, we do not track you as an individual across the restaurant boundaries. That is, if you sign up to Bob’s Restaurant and then later also visit Jenny’s Restaurant, you are treated as a complete separate person.
What do you do with my information?
There are two sorts of analysis done on the data we collect about you. The first is confined to the restaurant or restaurants you interact with. Each restaurant can get reports such as “who is my best customer? Who has been ordering hamburgers lately?”. This allows the restaurant to realise who is of the most value to them appropriately. This can be manifested as offers like loyalty discounts and free side orders, for example. Naturally, you are able to opt out of these communications at any time by contacting the individual restaurant.
The second form of analysis is anonymous, where we review the use of our products, and how the restaurant industry is performing overall. Reports such as “What’s the average price of a hamburger in this city?” and “What percentage of people get deliveries in this suburb?” are the type of information where we don’t need to know who you are, but want to know things to make the restaurant businesses more successful, and our own products more useful.
What information do you collect for the restaurants I interact with?
Marketing 4 Restaurants may collect the following personal information from you, on behalf of our member restaurants, depending on the products you use as a customer of that restaurant.

All of your data will be anonymised so that the restaurant can continue to get reports on the historical performance of their restaurant, but no specific piece of data will be traceable back to you.
