The definition that I always run with is from Dwight D Eisenhower, the art of influencing others to do what you want them to do because they want to do it.
We differentiate the role of a leader and a manager. Managers create systems and processes because they want to create something that can be replicated and that drives behavior. Managers also possess leadership qualities when exerting leadership principles. Same as being a leader, a leader should also have the qualities of a manager otherwise, there will be a disconnect. This episode on Restaurant Leadership will break the leadership process in the areas of your business Strategy, Culture, and Vision.
